While most of us exhausted by our Barastoc Horse of the year show were more than happy to put our feet up and catch up on sleep, many headed up to Canberra Royal.

The ride off for the best novice was an impressive line up of Sarah Mifsud AP Midnight Diamonds, Taelar Rae Williams Langzig, Natalie Terry Kings Park Platinum, Dale Plumb DP Prayer with the sash going to Dale’s DP Prayer.

The open hack line up for the championships was  Christine Frost  Elmdale Park,  Morelli Family & Joanne Prestwidge  Bells, Francesca Christie & Stephen Merry  SLM Mind Games, Lawrie & Jacobson Inxs, L & D Hayes & R Keskinen Request, open side-saddle hack winner  Kallistina & Melissa McManus  Karlan Park Exotica, with the champion going to SLM Mind Games and reserve Inxs.

Novice Galloways winners were small Galloway - Lightweight Penfold-Hyland Harrington Park Valentino, small Galloway  - Heavyweight JoAnne Parry & Ian McDuie Heatherbrae Imagine, Galloway Hack - Lightweight Deleeuw & Withers Rothwell Romantic Poet, novice Galloway Hack Heavyweight Ford & Whistlejackets Stud Wesswood Gypsy Jazz, the Best Novice Galloway Deleeuw & Withers Rothwell Romantic Poet.

 

The open Galloway winners were Walsh & Lamey AP Wizardry open Lady's Galloway,  Mr Ashley Reid Wesswood Royal Caste open Gentleman's Hack, Wells Family Geisha Girl open Lightweight small Galloway Hack, Morelli Family & Joanne Prestwidge Janevelyn Jazzman open heavyweight small Galloway, M Christie & Caroline Kuhn Mirinda Eyeliner lightweight Galloway, Ford L & A & Whistlejackets Stud Wesswood Gypsy Jazz heavyweight Galloway, Child's small Galloway Hack Anne Charlesworth Wynara Lyric and child's galloway Townsend  KT Fine Fashion. The Champion Galloway hack of the show was Christie M & Caroline Kuhn Mirinda Eyeliner and reserve was AP Wizardry.
