The day started off well …weather was perfect, good footing and a busy little grounds made it an interesting day. Normally held in Hobart this year the Tasmanian Horse of the Year went north to the Launceston Showgrounds. Launceston is one of Australia’s oldest cities and is home to many historic buildings, hopefully with the judging to be non-stop an early finish may mean the chance to get around and take in a few of the sites.
Judges for this year’s event; Melody Harris QLD, David Calbert NSW, Craig Purcell QLD and Rachael Addison VIC. Over the two days they showed consistent style in the horses and ponies selected as winners, in all at the end of the two days Tasmania will have a strong field of equines heading over to the Nationals in December this year.
