Hard to believe that at one show your sweating it out and less than 2 days latter drenched to the skin, Canberra Royal gave competitors trying conditions with the heaviest downpour, not that I think anyone is complaining! after the hell weeks Victoria and Sth Australia have been getting, the rain was not to be complained about.
Judges Samantha Kennedy, Lenore Holborrow-Harvey and Jason James saw to selecting out the Novice champions of the day. Top class in the galloway ring, the final line up for the title of Best Novice Galloway saw, Joanne Stewart’s Kolbeach Ensign winner of the Small Lightweight, Alcorn, Jenkins and Sumner’s nomination Swanreach Rare Edition Small Heavyweight, Melissa Oven’s Laser Encore Large Lightweight and Emily Lord’s Kaesbrook Gladiator Large Heavyweight, a nicer line up you could not find. Judge Lenore Holborrow-Harvey called Kolbeach Ensign to be this years winner.
Samantha Kennedy had the Novice Hack classes in hand, Sam knows a good horse and has a eye for elegancy and movement, her final line up for this section was lovely. 15 – 15.2 A & T Harris DP Illusive, 15-16 Indya Povey’s Lyndam Park Jimmy Choo, 16-16.2 Picasso Group’s Radiant and over 16.2 Jess Stalling and J & R Equestrian’s Stealth, with the sash going to Lyndam Park Jimmy Choo.
Jason James judged the ponies, winners in for the judging of the Best Novice Pony were; under 12hh Snell, East & Chapman’s Bordershow Bling, 12-12.2 McMahon & McCormick’s newest star the show ring Leanda Wrapped In Ribbons was called forward to be this years Best Novice Small Pony. In for the Large Novice Pony there was Melinda Ralph’s Grand Pageant winner of the 12.2-13hh, the Picasso Group Kolbeach Starlight winner of the 13-13.2hh, 13.2-14hh winner was Kolbeach Aristocrat – Lynda Hayes & Vicki Pisciotta & Hendricks nomintation.
