Tuesday was another beautiful day at Melbourne Show, the sun was out for the hacks. The first hack novice 15 -15.2hh class hit the ring with Kathleen Mullan and Kolbeach Roulette working well to win the class. Eleven exhibits came in for the novice hack 15.2-16hh the lovely grey gelding Atmosphere ridden by Samantha McMaster was the winner in this class. 16 -16.2hh was next with Karen Fishers Grail got the nod here. The last of the novice hack came out and Laura Thomas rode Taittinger for the win. The best novice hack was Kathleen Mullan and Kolbeach Roulette what an amazing show Kath has had so far bringing three novices to Melbourne Royal and taking all three home with Best Novice sashes and they still have a day to go.

The hack classes started back up in the afternoon, and Kathleen Mullen took the blue again with Roulette, winner of the 15.2-16 was Picasso Group V Lawrie & M Bawden upstanding hack Worldly and the 16-16.2 class was won by Jessica Dunn and Montilla, the last of the open hack classes was won by Stephanie Barrington and SLM Orlando. We have to wait for the champion hack as it is judged on the Wednesday as the last saddle class for the show.

The Novice Show Hunters had more exhibits than the novice hacks, the first class was novice 15-16hh won by Abby Heffer and Pink I am who then went on to win the Best Novice Show Hunter Hack. The winner of the over 16hh novice lass was Formal Occasion, owned by Deanne Benton. Matilda Longbottom and Broadway Duntroon won the show hunter 15-15.2 and Alexis Veall and Remi Rockefella worked their way to win the 15.2-16hh and then went on to win the Champion Show Hunter Hack with HB Beautiful Encounter, reserve was Troy Wilson and the imported mare Shakira LP who won the over 16hh and the Providance Cup for hunters.
