EV Celebrates Victorian Show Horse State Champions

The Equestrian Victoria Show Horse State Titles, Victoria’s pinnacle Show Horse event, attracted the best show horses and competitors from across the state this weekend at Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre (WPNEC).

Hosted annually at WPNEC, the Show Horse State Titles is a qualifier event to represent Victoria at the Australian Show Horse & Rider Championships held in December.

Equestrian Victoria CEO, Greg Pratt congratulated all contenders for putting in outstanding performances and commented on the high level of competition.

“The Equestrian Victoria Show Horse State Titles is a hallmark event in the Show Horse calendar.

“Our winners will represent Victoria at the Australian Show Horse & Rider Championships in December, and after some spectacular performances this weekend, are strong contenders to take home the garlands and sashes at ‘The Nationals’,” said Mr. Pratt.

This year the Equestrian Victoria Show Horse State Titles also featured two Racing Victoria ‘Off the Track’ classes which were both won by Concerto, owned and ridden by Sue Thompson.

Nationals qualifying classes took place on the Saturday and Sunday; Registered Thoroughbred Classes, Newcomer Saddle Classes and Rising Star Classes on Saturday; and First Ridden Pony and Junior Saddle Horses Classes on Sunday.                                                                                                       Media Release 18/3/2014
