Queen’s Birthday weekend is Melbourne International 3 Day Event weekend this historic event now in its 57th year and again though the hard work and efforts of Equestrian Victoria and the Event organising team headed up by Janet Houghton and supported by over 200 volunteers this iconic event really has become an equestrian festival not to be missed. This year it was Olympic hopeful Christine Bates riding her 13 year old warm blood thoroughbred cross gelding Adelaide Hills became a two time winner of this iconic event from another Olympic aspirant 2013 winner, Katja Weimann riding her own BP Flamboyant. Congratulations Christine!. For Christine, turning 40 later this year winning was made even sweeter becoming a two time winner. It is 16 years since her last title here on Masterprint.
Thursday was trot up sponsored by Dubarry winners of the best dressed combinations included Gabrielle Coulthard and David Ross, in the junior CCI 1* and CCI1 star class ) and Trudy McIntosh along with Howard Ward , un the CCI 2 and 3 star classes.
