Second day at Canberra Royal the open hacks were judged by Samantha Kennedy, Sue Thompson after helping to run the Barastoc Horse of the Year was back to been a competitor/owner, her stunning hack Starstruck ridden by Greg Mickan won the 15-15.2hh class, 2nd A & T Harris DP Illusive, 3rd Tracie & Tahlia Wells Showman, 4th India Mitchell Royalwood Centre Stage, 5th Amanda & Kaitlin O’Neill Secret Potion and 6th Bridget Sell Alkyra Elegance.

15.2-16hh class saw Michael Christie and Joh Bailey’s Mikimoto win the blue, 2nd Picasso Group [Bawden & Lawrie] Worldly, 3rd Annabel Mulready D.P. Mayfair, 4th Belinda Cusworth Aspen Park Icon, 5th Indya Povey Lyndam Park Jimmy Choo and 6th Sue Thompson’s Concerto.

16.2hh and over winner was Coventry ridden by Chris Lawrie owned by Bruce Flood and Chris & Vicki Lawrie, 2nd Stephanie Barrington & Francesca Christie – SLM Orlando, 3rd Paul Austin & Mark Lilley Chicago, 4th Farrow & Lipp Kholo, 5th Jane & Rose McEvoy Towering Inferno and 6th GC Equestrian & Jemma Heran Black Tie.

Broad ribbons all round for the Fricker Family of Sth Australia, Victoria and Caitlin took out both the Champion and Reserve champion child’s pony at Canberra royal with Falconhurst First Dance ridden by Caitlin as champion and Silkwoid Nutkin ridden by Victoria was reserve and then Falconhurst Reflection went on to win the Champion Ridden Riding Pony, reserve went to K. Strath Strathford Bel Canto.

The Champion Ridden RPSB Show Hunter Pony was Lambert, Furina & Pengilly’s Hillgrove Spring Melody and reserve Treneman-Duncan’s Owendale Rembrandt.

Typical of any Royal it was not only the open classes on, there was the Rider classes, the lovely welsh ponies strutted around and the Riding Ponies,  for full results please click here
